Confidentiality

Trust is an essential component to the counselling process.  Anything we discuss is strictly confidential in keeping with the Codes of Practice of the Australian Counselling Association.

Nothing you share will be discussed or accessible to anyone you have not approved of and if in the event information is shared, for example with your GP, you will have consented to this prior and your information will be shared in a secure format to maintain confidentiality.

 

There are very few reasons why confidentiality may be broken for example for legal reasons or if there is risk of harm to you or others.  We will discuss these when we meet and when possible such disclosures will be discussed beforehand.
