What to Expect

First Step

Reach out through email to sighcounselling@gmail.com.  We can set up a phone call to get to know eachother a little with no obligation to book in for a session.

Before our First Session

Welcome Pack with some general information emailed to you.

​

First Session (90 mins)

We get to know eachother. A relaxed and informal session that gathers and shares basic information and provides an opportunity for any questions you may have.

​

Initial Sessions (60 mins)

We will continue to build our therapeutic relationship and start to chat about what may be happening for you at the moment that has prompted you to reach out.  This is always done at the pace you are comfortable with. 

​

Middle Sessions (60 mins)

We work together to set goals that are important to you including the steps needed to achieve them.  I use an integrative approach that is unique to your individual needs.

 

We assess and reflect on how the process is going and any adjustments you may want to make can be implemented.

​

Later Sessions (60 mins)

We reflect on all the positive changes you have been able to make and incorporate into your life, the new skills learnt and insights gained in our time together.  We work towards the end of counselling and putting into place plans, strategies and possible new goals for your exciting future!

Length and Duration of Time Needed

The duration and frequency of counselling can be different for each individual depending on where you may be at and what you would like to achieve.  We would look at 6 sessions either weekly or fortnightly with zoom sessions being an option.  We will discuss and agree an approximate duration at the end of our first session.
